In an article titled, “Why the Future of Christianity Is African and Female,” Gina Zurlo (co-Director of the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary) presents some interesting statistics:

    • attend weekly church services (53% versus 46%)
    • pray daily (61% versus 51%)
    • say religion is important in their lives (68% versus 61%)
  • In 1900, 18% of the world’s Christians lived in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania
    • Today that figure is 67%
  • Africa is home to 27% of the world’s Christians
  • United States and Canada are home to just 11% of all Christians in the world
