The Power of Prayer

Never, ever, ever underestimate the power of prayer.

There are some issues in my family that I’ve been praying about for a long time but that continue to be a struggle.

So at my church you can fill out a little prayer card asking the prayer team to pray for you. I did this for the first time recently. I didn’t know what to expect.

Within a day I got a call from a volunteer with my church’s Care Ministry who told me they had received my prayer request and that it was on the prayer list, but that she also wanted to reach out to me and ask how I’m doing.

We talked for several minutes … about my situation, about Jesus, about the Bible, and she said she’d like to pray with me.

I cannot possibly describe the spiritual love and empowerment that enveloped me as she prayed with me over the phone.

Never ever forget that every single member of the Body of Christ – including you – has the awesome ability to comfort, to empower, to minister and to bring God’s peace to those in need through the power of prayer in Jesus’s name.

Amen.
