Good Morning God!
I thank You once again for giving me the gift of another of Your days.
Y’know, we haven’t just had a friendly little chat for a while. I’ve got a few things on my mind.
God, I don’t mean to be critical, and of course only You know all the pieces of Your awesome plan. But it’s getting harder every day to appreciate Your clouds. We haven’t had a day that wasn’t at least partly cloudy since before Christmas. Your beautiful snow is getting all dirty and grey, and I just want You to know that I’m really looking forward to Your sunshine and Spring flowers too.
I’m tired of Your pandemic too, God, and all the political fighting about it. I want You to know that I appreciate the awesome knowledge with which You have graced our scientists and health care providers and thank You for the gifts of knowledge that You have given them. Please bless the rest of us with the wisdom to make good use of that.
And God, I don’t really know what to say about the embarrassment and turmoil being brought by some of our political leaders. Please bless them with the wisdom and the desire to find a way to work together for the common good. Please bless the rest of us with the discernment to reject Fake News and the ability to love others, including our enemies as You have commanded us to do.
And finally, God, please bless my small group with the ability to stop canceling its meetings and resume the discussions of Your Word that I look forward to every week.
Of course I pray that Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Please help me to appreciate Your will when it’s not necessarily what I was hoping for.
And thank You for this weekend. I am looking forward to a day of rest.
