Why Surprised?

I am always amazed when I pray for God’s help and actually receive it. I get so totally blown away … I want to jump up and down and tell the whole world, “You’ll never believe what happened! I prayed for God’s help and received exactly what I prayed for. I mean, never in a million years would I have thought I could actually manage to do ‘X’ but after I prayed for His help it was easy!!! Can you believe it?!?!?!? “

So if I truly believe, why am I always so blown away when that happens?

I never feel like jumping up and down and singing from the rooftops, “Guess what happened when I turned on the shower this morning??? The water actually came out!!!” because I never have the slightest doubt that it will.

So does the fact that I keep being blown away by God’s answers to my prayers show that maybe I don’t quite believe as much as I think I do?

Maybe there’s difference between belief and trust. I believe … but I have always had issues with trust.

I need to work on deepening my trust in God. And I need to remember to ask His help in doing that, not just try to do it on my own!

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
