The Heat of Summer

In Psalm 32:4 David writes, speaking of unconfessed sin,

For day and night
    your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
    as in the heat of summer.

The worldly heat of summer is upon us these days, sweltering days and steamy nights. It helps me feel in my bones what David meant when he wrote of the heaviness of unconfessed and unforgiven sin.

My church’s small groups don’t meet during the dog days of summer. Last night was the final on-line (due to pandemic concerns) meeting of my small group until fall. I will miss those small group meetings.

For some, a two month break in small group meetings may seem short. For me, it has been less than 2 months since I was saved. So two months feels like a lifetime.

I feel blessed and at peace with God despite various worldly challenges today.

God is Awesome.

Praise God! Amen.
