Praying For Justice

This week I’ve been praying for guidance in repenting for the sin of institutional racism. I know, that’s a big idea for a Little Kid.

Here’s my thinking.

I have lived my whole life in a culture blighted by systemic racism.
It is not possible to be a part of any worldly culture without absorbing its values.
I know that there are ways that racism exists in my own heart.
- That’s not my fault.
- But it is my responsibility to repent, and change my ways to avoid continuing the same sin.
I can’t change the world.
But I absolutely can, with God’s help, heal the sin in my own life which is contrary to God’s will.
Racism is contrary to God’s will.

I am praying for guidance and help in overcoming this evil in myself and in my everyday actions.
